COLUMBIA - I Hand cut sails from archival cold pressed watercolor paper. The hull was cut from silhouette paper, the masts were cut from Color Aid papers and the birds and rigging were hand cut from old ledger pages. The background was custom designed from my early Astronomy engravings and a 1857 Baltimore invoice.
Hand made vinegar painted/grained frame. Other frames available.

COLUMBIA was the defender of the 10th America's Cup Race in 1899 against British challenger Shamrock as well as defender of the 11th America's Cup race in 1901 against British challenger, Shamrock II. It won the trophy twice in a row.
